‘Waku’ meaning to ‘arise’, like water pouring from a hot spring and ‘Ghin’ meaning ‘silver’ offers an unparalleled dining experience not only in Singapore but comparable to any of the world’s finest restaurants.

Japanese celebrity chef Tetsuya Wakuda opened Waku Ghin at the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel in 2010 following on from the phenomenal success of his Sydney restaurant, widely considered to be one of the best in Australia and he serves a maximum of 25 covers per sitting with diners getting a bird’s eye view of the cooking process.

The 10-course Euro-Japanese degustation menu isn’t cheap at S$400 but it has been meticulously created to showcase the finest ingredients in Asia. Signature dishes include marinated Botan shrimp with sea urchin and Oscietra caviar and Japanese Ohmi Wagyu from Shiga Prefecture with wasabi and citrus soy and since chef Tetsuya has been appointed the first Sake Ambassador outside of Japan, the sake menu is among the very best in the world.

The 8,000ft² space has an intimate bar area, three private dining rooms and an open plan dining room and is a warm, friendly place where you will be transported into a sophisticated gastronomic nirvana, the likes of which is hard to find anywhere in the world.
