The world’s best rainforest zoo is an award-winning wildlife park where 3,000 animals across almost 300 species live peacefully and happily in an innovative ‘open concept’ that allows them to live as closely as possible as they would in the wild with space to roam around carefully created landscaped environments.
Opened in 1973, Singapore Zoo is set in a rainforest habitat and divided into 11 zones where you can see magnificent white tigers, Asian elephants, the world’s largest captive orang-utan colony, pygmy hippos, chimpanzees, polar bears and dozens more of the world’s most beautiful animals.
There’s tons for the little ones too including rides, tours and treks as well as the Kidzranger Tour where they can see what it’s like being a zookeeper and of course there’s plenty of places to eat and drink including Safari Sizzles, the Zebra Café and Bongo Burgers.
As the dark hours arrive, going home isn’t an option! Night Safari is the world’s first safari dedicated to the world’s most amazing nocturnal animals – 130 species to be precise, including almost 50 that are threatened, including leopards, elephants, tigers and giant flying squirrels. You can follow one of the four walking trails or take a 40 minute tram ride around the dense 35 hectare rainforest but make sure you don’t miss the Creatures of the Night show; it’s a sight to behold.
After a full day at the zoo you’re going to be tired but the Night Safari is definitely worth staying up late for!
