The ethos of the Singapore Science Centre is ‘to make science an inspiring and exciting experience for people of all ages’ and one visit will confirm that this is exactly what they do! There are 14 galleries packed to the brim with over a thousand exhibits, daily shows and so many buttons to press, levers to pull and things to touch that the kids won’t know what to do first.
Take a walk to the centre of the Earth, explore the Arctic, become a Scientist for the Day, discover the amazing Ecogarden or dive into the Marine Alcove for an up-close-and-personal rendezvous with our underwater friends. We haven’t even scratched the surface though. There’s so much to do here and it really is a touchy-feely heaven for little kids, big kids and even bigger kids who never grow old of pressing buttons!
Although there are additional entrance charges, you can’t miss Snow City, the first permanent snow centre in Singapore and the Omni-Theatre, an IMAX dome where you can almost literally touch and feel the action in front of your eyes. The theatre also houses KidsSTOP, a 3,000 m² entertainment centre for pre-schoolers and lower primary-age kids where ‘science communicators’ have created some incredible exhibits and themed zones to expose the little ones to the wonders of science.
Don’t forget to see the fantastic Fire Tornado and Tesla Coil demos before stopping for lunch at one of six family-friendly restaurants and of course, stop at the gift shops on your way out for a great memory of a really great day out at one of the best museums for kids in Singapore.
