Wake up and smell the orchids at Singapore’s National Orchid Garden, housed within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Orchids have bloomed here since 1859; thanks to the efforts of ardent horticulturists, there are now more than 1,000 species and 2,000 hybrids on display. The garden is even home to some very special orchids named after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Entrance costs $5 for adults; $1 for students and senior citizens (ages 60+).
