It may be a decent drive out from the CBD but when you get to Bob’s Bar, you’ll realise why you made the trip. The hotel itself is one of the most beautiful in all of Asia and Bob’s Bar was inspired by Havana’s glory days where you can ‘explore the rich flavours, colours, and spirits of the West Indies and Havana’s golden era’.
The bar was designed to resemble Cuba’s drinking dens of the 1950s and 1960s where you’ll find old-world charm mixing effortlessly with a contemporary, stylish look and feel. If you throw in live Latin jazz music and an outstanding drinks menu, you have to makings of a very, very good night out, away from the hustle and bustle of Singapore and if you close your eyes you can transport yourself back to Cuba’s golden age.
Friday night is Havana Night with drinks and a BBQ on the al fresco terrace and the hotel even has its own brand of rum called Navegante – Spanish for ‘navigator’ which is worth the trip alone but if you’re looking for smooth jazz, smooth rum and some of the best views overlooking Palawan Beach and out into the South China Sea, Bob’s Bar is the place for you.
