Here’s how the best weekend of your life will pan out (hint: amazing racing and music overload.)
FRIDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2019
Formula 1® Free Practice. During the two sessions of Free Practice, the teams ‘check out’ the track and evaluate how their cars behave in current set-up. Strategy for the race will be planned based on the information gained, such as the settings for the aerodynamics, how long each type of tyre will last (teams have to use two different types of Pirelli tyre during a race – one harder than the other) and when to make their pit-stops.

Padang Stage: Swedish House Mafia*
SATURDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2019
Formula 1® Final Free Practice and Qualifying. Qualifying is where the drivers try to set the fastest single lap time possible, to determine the position in which they will start the race. Qualifying consists of 3 sessions, the first session is 18 minutes long and the slowest five drivers are eliminated; they will start the race in 15th – 20th on the grid, in the order of their best lap time. The second 15-minute session sees the remaining 15 drivers reduced to 10, who will then go on to a 12-minute final ‘shoot out’ to determine their starting positions. This session also determines who will secure the all-important Pole Position – especially valuable at narrow street circuits like this one, where overtaking is harder than anywhere.
