Walk the Southern Ridges

Henderson Road
Mount Faber Park
Telok Blangah Hill Park
Singapore 099203

Calling all nature lovers! The Southern Ridges is a picturesque 9km hike from where you can view Singapore like very few people have. There are eight individual trails including Singapore’s highest pedestrian bridge and the views of the entire city, the harbour and out towards the Southern Islands is something you’ll remember forever.

If you do the entire route, expect to be out for around five hours but it will be five hours of looking at stunning views, birds in the natural habitat and beautiful ridges and paths but you can also pick and choose the sections you’d like to walk.

Marange Trail From Mount Faber to Telok Blangah Road is a path with steps and shaded footpaths.

Faber Trail A 1km trail from Mount Faber Park to Henderson Waves.

Henderson Waves The highlight of the hike, it’s a 274m long undulating wavy bridge 36m above Henderson Road and you’ll find panoramic views of the southern tip of the island and it’s lit from 7pm – 2am every day.

Hilltop Walk A 1km trail connecting Henderson Waves to the Forest Walk.

Forest Walk An elevated zig-zag of a path if 1.3km from where you can literally touch the tree canopy.

Alexandra Arch An 80m arch that’s lit up at night with colour-changing LED lights which will lead you to Hort Park.

Hort Park This is a huge gardening and lifestyle centre where Singapore’s green-fingered fanatics do their shopping and it’s open from 6.00am – 10.00pm daily.

Canopy Walk To finish, the Canopy Walk takes you through forest groves for 300m until you finally get to the end.

Make sure you have plenty of battery power for the dozens and dozens of photo opportunities you’ll find on the walk and if you want, you can always split it over a number of days – just pick up where you left off.

The Southern Ridges is a great, if slightly strenuous day out but the views more than make up for the huff and puff!
