You don’t have to spend a fortune to get outstanding, authentic Japanese sushi and the Tomi Sushi Bar chain proves that. There are four in Singapore – Raffles Boulevard, Novena Square, Katong and Cuppage Terrace – and 14 in Japan, and each one is as good as the next.
The appearance may be somewhat modest with a clinical, mass-market feel but once you’re sat at your table, you won’t be disappointed. They use the very best Koshihikara rice and different soy sauces for the sushi and sashimi as well as a particular salt from the Sea of Japan which is milder but with a richer taste – it’s the little things that make the difference.
The set lunches are excellent value and the à la carte menu is seasonal, exquisitely fresh and of a very high standard. The sushi and sashimi is beautifully prepared, in fact the entire menu uses very high quality ingredients and that’s obvious judging by how it all tastes!
Not necessarily a place to take a date or a client but Tomi Sushi is a great weekday sushi place for the whole family, a quick bite or a slap-up meal!
