At Questacon – The National Science & Technology Centre you can release your inner geek with over 200 interactive exhibits that will stretch your mind every which way!
The teacher’s description of Questacon is that it ‘strives to promote greater understanding and awareness of science and technology within the community, while maintaining a commitment to making that experience fun, interactive, and relevant’ but we say ‘it’s an awesome place to experience the most extraordinarily cool science and tech stuff that will bend your mind!’
Free-fall down an 18-ft long slide, try and beat a robot at air-hockey or experience what it’s like being in an earthquake! See the creepy-crawly Spiders exhibition, take a Walk of Wonder and discover the science that surrounds us every day and book your tickets for the little ones (3-6 years) for Science Time, an amazing interactive show where they can ask lots of questions, take part in experiments, sing science songs and learn some amazing stuff.
Australia.com says ‘the museum has a mind-blowing collection of objects – from the sacred to the bizarre’ so be prepared to ignite your imagination as you move through the eight galleries and you can even star in the daily Spectacular Science Show.
The Mega Bites Café will satisfy even the hungriest wannabee scientist and the obligatory gift shop is packed full of books, toys, souvenirs and other science-related stuff and if you’re looking for a full-on day out for the whole family in Canberra, Questacon – The National Science & Technology Centre will tick all your boxes!
