The Museum of Art & Design (MAD) is Singapore’s most innovative and creative mega-gallery.
Occupying 19,000 ft across two storeys on Tanglin Road in the heart of Orchard, Singapore’s first private museum is a place that has creativity and new concepts coming out of every pore.
The gift shop isn’t full of the usual tourist-y pens, erasers and art books; it’s stocked with small works from local artists.
There is a cigar bar, a sculpture garden and a bistro with a menu that varies from season to season and although the place is huge with an industrial-chic vibe, it manages to remain intimate and inviting.
In fact it’s more than a gallery. It’s an inclusive creative space with a vision to make art and design accessible to everyone and the programme of events includes talks, workshops, shows and exhibitions so check the website before you go to see what’s on.
