Lower Seletar Reservoir Park is a small 3.3 hectare green space overlooking the reservoir to the east of Singapore leading out to the Straits of Johor and it’s host to lots of land and water-based activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Every morning you’ll find joggers and walkers taking in the great views while keeping fit and there are some outstanding cycling trails including the Northern Explorer Loop, a 1-2 hour, 11km ride that starts at the park and takes you all the way to Woodlands Waterfront, one of Singapore’s longest coastal jetties.
Anglers come from all over Singapore come to test their mettle against the tilapias and the snakeheads, the latter of which can reach over a metre or more in length and benches stretching the length of the reservoir make for excellent viewing galleries!
The reservoir is also a popular place for dragon boat racing and kayaking. You can rent kayaks at the People’s Association Water Venture outlet run by professional, experienced and certified staff for a day of leisurely paddling down the reservoir and amazing sights.
In addition to watersports and fishing, Lower Seletar Reservoir Park is a pretty little space great for family picnics, morning or evening strolls and if you get there early, you’ll get to see a spectacular sunrise.
