It’s hard to believe, but just 50 years ago, Singapore Airlines began its long relationship with the United Kingdom, when the first flight flew between London and Singapore under the original Malaysia Singapore Airlines (MSA) brand.
Since then, the number-one airline’s presence in the UK has continued to grow and evolve, with global milestones including: jointly operating the Concorde with British Airways between London and Singapore in the Seventies; becoming the first airline to operate a non-stop service between the two cities in the Eighties; and also offering the first commercial flights on the A380 from London in 2008.
Today, Singapore Airlines is internationally renowned for its world-class service and hospitality, along with its unrivalled choice of four award-winning cabins on board its flights from London to Singapore. Plentiful entertainment options, delicious cuisine, best-in-class seats, luxurious extras and seamless connections to Southeast Asia and Australasia count among the airline’s enduring charms. The sky’s the limit, with Singapore Airlines…
In honour of this magnificent milestone, we take a peek into the archives and cherry-pick some iconic moments from the airline’s UK romance.
